An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
